Mary has been providing mental health therapy, leadership and program development for over 40 years to mental health focused programs servicing a wide variety of populations.

During her tenure as Director of Chemical Dependency Services, she designed the nation’s first Primary Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program where women could bring their children, winning National, State and Local acclaim.

When the Department of Defense developed its Psychological Health Program to serve the National Guard, she was Minnesota’s first Director of Psychological Health, designing and overseeing the Suicide Prevention/Awareness Program for the 133rd Airlift Wing and serving as Board Chair for the CAIB program.  She has worked extensively with veterans since that time in development of programs and providing direct therapeutic services.

Mary has been trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Motivational Interviewing and intensive relaxation techniques such as EFT and Mindfulness.

Her approach is to help identify individual strengths and to build on those as the best way to intervene with current problems utilizing Positive Psychology techniques and processes.
