Tamara, a Professional Counselor Associate and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, brings over a decade of experience in behavioral health, addiction recovery, and trauma-informed care. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from American InterContinental University and a Master of Science in Psychology from California Southern University. Tamara is certified in Seeking Safety, Naloxone and Overdose Awareness, Cultural Competency, and ASAM Level I and II criteria.

Born into a multicultural household and shaped by experiences of domestic violence and single parenthood, Tamara’s personal history has fueled her commitment to culturally responsive and compassionate care. She is known for her warm, person-centered approach and believes that healing is a collaborative journey rooted in empathy, empowerment, and holistic wellness.

Since 2009, Tamara has worked across a wide range of treatment settings—including detox centers, acute and sub-acute care, school-based programs, residential and outpatient programs (IOP/PHP), and community centers. She has led therapy groups, taught state-funded parenting programs, and facilitated psychoeducation on anger management and relapse prevention. Tamara has also worked with court-mandated and voluntary clients from diverse backgrounds and has hosted a radio program focused on women’s empowerment, faith, and community healing.

Tamara specializes in substance use disorders, anxiety, stress, and trauma. As a clinician, she provides a nonjudgmental, inclusive space where clients can feel seen and supported. Whether delivering individual therapy or group interventions, she integrates evidence-based models and spiritual insights to foster resilience and lasting change.
